Oknha Mong Reththy Port was officially inaugurated on 02 Dec 2004 presided by Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. It was a prestigious ceremony with the attendance of the high ranking officials of the royal government, NGOs, national and international reporters, employees, staffs and more than 6,000 people.

Oknha Mong Reththy's speech made a commitment that he will use his best endeavor to develop the area into a comprehensive tourism economic zone following in the steps of Preah Sihanouk ville. The people there will be given opportunity of employment and good lives.
